仕事柄、年間通してまあ随分といろんな音楽を聴く。で、いろんな人達のライブを観る。音楽がキライな人だったらもう拷問ってくらいに聴きまくるわけで、逆に好きな人にとってみればもうたまらなく幸せな状態なんだと思います。そんなことで、よく年末になるといろんな音楽メディアでやる企画「今年の年間ベストテン」みたいなのを考えようかと思ったんだけど、これがぜんぜん思い出せない。。
話のついでに出てくるんだったら「あー、、あの時は凄かったなー」とかなるんだけど、、。年間に何百曲聴くんだかわからないし、ライブだってチラ見を入れれば多分3桁は超えてるはず。そうなってくると一本一本の感動が薄れてしまうわけで、それは果たして幸せなことなのか、、と思ったりして。でもとにかく数に当らないとモノの善し悪しは判断出来るようにはならないし、、痛し痒しなんだと思いますが。。。
そんなすっかりスレちゃってる僕でもやっぱりスゴイものを観ると凄いと思う。そういう時に「あぁ俺はまだちゃんと感動できる！オッケー！！」。と自分で確認できてそれがまた良かったりする訳です。そんなことで、最近観たものの中でこりゃまいったって思ったのは、3日ほど前に青山の草月ホールで観たリトル・クリーチャーズ。
今までクリーチャーズのライブは身近なだけによく観てると思うけど、彼らはライブも常にスバらしい。そして今度のライブも凄く良かった。もうちょっとメジャーな存在になってもいいのにといつも思ったりするくらい。。まあ大きなお世話というか、お前に言われたくないと言われそうだけど（爆）。ライブのタイトルもOveralls People=オーバーオールの人達。。。おバカな人達です。
まあ彼らと一緒にやってるダブルフェイマスもそうだけど、クリーチャーズも相当にマイペースな活動しかしないバンドなので、ライブをなかなか観れないという人の為に（かどうかは知らないけど）、ライブDVDを出すそうです。所属事務所であるTONEのサイトのみでの販売。最近作”ナイト・ピープル”の傑作PVのメイキングなんかも入ってる。実は僕もまだ観てなくてこれからなんだけど、まず間違いないと思うので先に紹介します。
あと最近観たライブで凄かったのは、、今日UNITで観た、デートコース・ペンタゴン・ロイヤル・ガーデン。菊地成孔さんのバンドですね。これもかなり良かった。以前にジェームス・チャンス＆コントーションズを呼んでUNITでイベントをやった時も出演してもらいましたが、その時よりも今日のパフォーマンスは数段良かった。
ある意味クリーチャーズとは対極なんだけど（人数もめちゃくちゃ多いし）まあすごいパフォーマンスだった。世代的には僕らよりも一段階上の人達だし、こういうライブを観て育つと次の人達はどうなるんだろう。日本の音楽シーンはどんどん層が厚くなっていく、、というか大変な人生を歩むヤツが増えるんだろうなー。みんながんばって欲しいものです。
